You’d be hardpressed to find an anime fan who hasn’t come across Hatsune Miku, having become a staple in the anime world with at least a passing meme here or there pointing to the character.
Well, Miku is such a popular face that it’s going to be the subject of an animated series made, in part, with the idol’s owner, Crypton Future Media. The studio is also partnering with Graphic India and Carlin West Agency.
Very little is currently known about the series, but it will involve not just animation, but also combining live-action and – naturally – music.
Hatsune Miku is a Vocaloid, a character made by using Yamaha’s proprietary voice synthesizing software. It isn’t even like its appeal is exclusive to the anime community, though, as the virtual idol was set to play during 2020’s Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival, but it all came to a halt after its cancelation. Miku even opened for Lady Gaga back in 2014.
