It’s been a fair while since we’ve heard from Kyoto Animation’s award-winning anime, Miss Kobayashi’s Dragon Maid, but now it’s looking to be moving forward faster as a new video showcased its cast performing a rap to explain why its second season is called Miss Kobayashi’s Dragon Maid S.
A second season was revealed in early 2019, but it was put to a grinding halt midway through the year following a terrible arson attack on Kyoto Animation’s building. The end result led to several injured and dead – including Yasuhiro Takemoto, the director of Miss Kobayashi’s Dragon Maid. As soon as the news hit, some weren’t sure what the plans really were with the anime until the studio confirmed it would continue with a new director.
While fans rejoiced when the news dropped, not much else was really discussed about the future. Only little things here and there until now when Kyoto released a new trailer showcasing, among other things, the cast, which largely involves the same cast, with the exception of Tomomi Mineuchi, which will be the seiyuu for Ilulu, a teenage-looking dragon, who ends up as Kobayashi’s third dragon companion.
Miss Kobayashi’s Dragon Maid S is slated to premiere in July 2021, though, that doesn’t seem to take into account dubbing for those who prefer that route.
